Commissioned by the Resident Class of 2012 Class
By Silvia Pecota
Dedicated in honor of the Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen, Marines, Coast Guardsmen, Allies, and Civilians who have made the ultimate sacrifice in the cause of liberty.
Individuals who fight for liberty and freedom are part of an unbroken line stretching throughout history. The youngest Soldier today walks in the footsteps of those who fought along the Marne, assaulted Hitler's Fortress Europe in Normandy, suffered through the Bataan Death March, landed at Inchon, patrolled the jungles of Vietnam, and conducted convoys and patrols in Iraq.
Todays Soldiers consecrate the ground with their blood in the mountains and deserts of Afghanistan, and in places across the globe where the enemies of freedom challenge America and her allies.
The U.S. Army War College Class of 2012 honors those who gave their lives in service to the ideals of liberty and freedom. Represented by the stone and sentinels of Arlington national Cemetery, we stop to pay our respects to the fallen comrades who gave the last full measure of devotion at the moment they are welcomed by the Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen, Marines, Coast Guardsmen, Allies, and Civilians who went before.
Available in large, unframed version. Signed and numbered with a U.S. Army War College seal. Also available in a miniature unframed version.
